It was literally all bells and whistles for the percussion team at Lofthouse Brass Band in Wakefield.
Tasked in April 2019 with creating a marketing campaign specifically aimed at children from 5 – 16 years of age, Keep the Beat was born!
The campaign (backed by Wakefield Council) ran across various media formats from printed leaflets to online animations (and even making the occasional radio appearance!). The success of the publicity generated over 20 budding drummers turning up for the workshops.
A spokesman for Lofthouse Brass Band commented: ‘We could have run the best workshop in the world but people wouldn’t have known about it without this great campaign. Everyone has had a fantastic time learning how to ‘Keep the Beat’. Thanks to James for helping us spread the word’.
